Community Development
Building sustainable futures for communities
At Project Humanity Australia, we believe long-term change happens when communities are empowered to support themselves.
Through sustainable development initiatives such as farming programs, housing support and livelihood projects, we help families build stability, independence and opportunity for the future.
These initiatives focus on providing practical resources and support that allow individuals and communities to create lasting improvements in their lives.
Empowering families through sustainable agriculture
Coffee & Peppercorn Farming
Inspired by the belief that sustainable support creates lasting change, Project Humanity Australia launched a Coffee and Peppercorn Farming initiative in 2017 in Buon Me Thuot, Vietnam.
This project was created to support 32 indigenous families, providing them with the opportunity to work together and develop a sustainable source of income.
The initiative is overseen by Sr Anna Suong, who coordinated and guided the families in establishing and maintaining the farm.
The goal of the project is simple: provide families with the resources and knowledge needed to grow crops, generate income and build long-term stability.
The initial setup cost was under $4,000 AUD, with an annual fertilising cost of approximately $1,000 AUD.
By creating opportunities for families to work together and develop their own livelihoods, this initiative helps communities become more self-sufficient and confident in their ability to support themselves.
Strengthening communities through practical support
Sustainable Projects
In 2024, Project Humanity Australia launched a new initiative in Kon Tum, Central Vietnam, focused on providing livestock and farming support to families in need.
Through this project, communities received:
• 10 cows
• 20 pigs
• Custom-made motorbikes to assist with farming and transport
These resources help families generate income, improve food security and reduce reliance on external aid.
The project focuses on building long-term sustainability by encouraging communities to develop their own economic opportunities and agricultural practices.
Building safe homes for families in need
Compassion Homes
Project Humanity Australia also supports vulnerable families by helping build Compassion Homes.
These homes are built for families facing difficult circumstances, with priority given to:
• Families with young children
• People living with disabilities
• Elderly individuals without adequate housing
Each Compassion Home costs approximately $2,500 AUD to construct.
The houses measure approximately 4 metres wide and 10 metres long, and include basic living facilities such as a kitchen area and bathroom.
To date, 47 Compassion Homes have been funded and built with support from Project Humanity Australia.
These homes provide families not only with shelter, but also with dignity, safety and the opportunity to build a better future.
Our Impact
Through community development initiatives, Project Humanity Australia has:
• Supported 32 families through sustainable farming programs
• Funded and built 47 Compassion Homes
• Provided livestock and farming support to rural communities
• Helped families build long-term economic stability
These initiatives help communities move from short-term assistance toward lasting self-sufficiency and resilience.
