Volunteer Voice

projecthumanityaus

As a university student - in between studying and completing assessments - I often have free time between classes. Rather than spending most of my time on social media, I decided to use my time to support an organization that helps other people.

I chose to volunteer for PHAi because it is an organization that is true to its cause, and helps many underprivileged families and children in need. What is even more impressive is that people working for PHAi are all volunteers; therefore, all funds are assured to go directly to the people who need them the most.

Throughout my journey with PHAI, I have interacted with various team members who helped enhanced my growth both personally and professionally. The experiences that I have gained and continue to gain here as a Secretary are truly valuable. I have met new people, and have honed key competencies including my team skills and interpersonal skills, as well as my ability to adapt to new situations.

One of the few things I am looking forward to in the future with PHAi is hopefully seeing more volunteers like me helping the organization, and building a small community of young people who are passionate to help people in need.

With that being said, the 12th of August 2021 is International Youth Day - a celebration of young people’s voices, actions, and initiatives. I hope that young people continue to take their time and energy to invest in meaningful activities, so that when they look back on how they have spent their time, they can be genuinely proud of their accomplishments.

PHAi Board Secretary
